Assistant Professor (Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, Chennai-600025, India) (Period 2010 – till date)
• Research: Understanding the evolution of organ specific metabolism and signaling as well as their status under pathology with special reference to nutrient sensing/homeostasis and organelle turnover.
• Teaching: Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering theory and lab courses for undergraduate and post-graduate students.
Postdoctoral Fellow (Period 2009-2010 – Department of Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, USA)
• Effect of serotonin receptor agonists on mitochondrial respiration (using XF24/96 extracellular flux analyzer) and biogenesis using primary cultures of renal proximal tubular cells.
Postdoctoral Fellow (Period 2008-2009 – Department of Animal Biology, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA)
• Understanding mitochondrial respiratory stress signaling in cancer with a new perspective about the distinctive nature of NFкB (cRel:p50) activation in transgenic mice and c2c12 skeletal myoblast cell culture model.

• Understanding the mechanism(s) underlying mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction and loss of skeletal muscle fibers during aging.

• Delivered a Lecture on "Organelle turnover signaling" in Evolutionary Trends in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Biotrendz 2012 organized by Department of Biochemistry, Bharathidasan University, Trichy, India (20-Sep-2012).

• Delivered a Lecture on "Unaided autophagy is not sufficient to determine mitochondrial quality control in adipose tissue of diet-induced diabetic mice" in 38th Mahabaleshwar seminar on Mitochondria, Metabolism and Energetics organized by Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar, India (27-Jan-2014).

• Delivered a Lecture on "Effects of insulin signaling on mitochondrial turnover by targeting autophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis" in 5th International Conference on Molecular Signaling organized by AU-KBC Research Centre, MIT Campus, Anna University (12-Jan-2017).

• Delivered a Lecture on “Biotin deprivation elicits endoplasmic reticulum stress by inhibiting autophagy in aging brain” at Department of Biotechnology, MEPCO Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, India (21-Sep-2019).

• Delivered a lecture on “Biotin deprivation inhibits autophagy to elicit ER stress in the aging brain” at Department of Genetics, University of Madras (24-Feb-2020).
